Powerball is a numbers game of chance using 2 separate barrels of 45 numbered balls each. The draw involves 5 balls being drawn from the first barrel and 1 Powerball number from the second barrel. In total, the machines draw 6 numbers.
For a standard game, you choose 5 numbers from the first range of 1 to 45 and a Powerball number from the second range of 1 to 45.
If your numbers match all of the numbers drawn, you win Division One. If the numbers drawn don't result in a Division One winner, the Division One prize pool jackpots. Powerball often jackpots beyond AU$15 million.
Powerball is drawn on Thursdays.
